About Us . . . The Next Generation of Home Builders
Ian Anderson was born in the small town of Vienna, Illinois. One of four children, they moved to Crown Point
Indiana so that Vernon (Ian’s father) could continue his career in home building as his father before him.
Ian attended
Crown Point High School and Indiana University, after which he spent three years in the armed forces serving his country in Korea
and Germany. Upon returning home he used his education to earn an accounting position at Simmons Corporation in Munster, Indiana.
After a couple of years Ian decided to carry on the family business by entering into a six year tutorship under his father before
forming American Heritage in 1976.
Ian's son, Jeremy Anderson, attended Crown Point High School, then went to Indiana
University and graduated in 1999. After graduation he was employed as a film critic for the Times Newspaper before deciding his true
calling was in the family business.
After learning the craft of a trim carpenter, he was promoted and became
manager of the trim crew. After a several years, Jeremy was the general superintendant for all job sites and is currently
responsible for making sure all work gets done in a proper and timely fashion. He also works in the office with his father learning
to keep the required records, evaluating new materials and procedures while working with clients on a personal basis to ensure
their needs are translated to their new or remodeled home.
As the fourth generation in the Anderson family
to ‘take up’ this trade, Jeremy is dedicated to keeping American Heritage a successful, respected company that gives back to his community.
